News Turkmenistan is working for energy security

Turkmenistan is working on developing an international mechanism to secure the global infrastructure for oil and gas. Turkmenistan announced it was working on a universal legal mechanism to guarantee the international energy supply at the diplomatic level.

Ashgabat has several contracts with European and Asian countries to develop it natural gas deposits. Its reserves are mentioned for the Nabucco pipeline, a planned network for India and Pakistan and several existing arteries to Iran.

In December, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan inaugurated a 1,138-mile pipeline to deliver gas from Turkmenistan to China. The route for that pipeline bypasses Russian territory.
