SOCAR launches alternative energy initiative in Azerbaijan
SOCAR, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, is planning to launch alternative and sustainable energy provision as from May 2010.
SOCAR Vice-President Mukhtar Babayev has said “Our Eco-Park will include both solar batteries and wind generators, [...] to make people understand that gas as well as oil is not everlasting. [...] The first wind generators have overall capacity of 40 kW – 4 generators of 10 kW each . The capacity of solar batteries will be 20 kW”
