News New thermal power plant in Armenia

A new thermal pwoer plant has opened in Armenia, constructed with the help of a $247m. loan from Japan. Its 242 MW capacity will enable it to provide a quarter of the country's electricity. It is far more efficient than the old units which it replaces and also generates much lower carbon emissions. A further similar plant is planned.
