News Nabucco pipeline is a priority project for the EU

The European Commissioner for Energy, Andris Piebalgs, told a meeting in Brussels today that the Nabucco gas pipeline remains a priority project for the EU, and that the European Investment Bank (EIB) is willing to be an investor. Construction of the €7.9 m. pipeline, linking Azerbaijan and Central Asia with the EU,  should commence in 2011, and Nabucco is scheduled to start operation in 2014.
