Moldova increases oil products imports

Moldova imported over 565,000 tons of oil products in 2008, which is up by 3.4 per cent against 2007. In money value, the import on these products increased by 45 per cent and stood at over 531 million dollars, data by National Agency for Energy Regulation /ANRE/ show.

As many as 163 licensed companies are operating on the Moldovan fuel market, of which 21 deal with the import and wholesale of petrol and diesel oil and another nine with the import and wholesale of liquefied gas. The other 133 licensees sell petrol, diesel oil and gas in retail at authorised fuel filling stations.
