ERGEG advice on Russia-Ukraine gas dispute
ERGEG, representing Europe’s energy regulators, have published a letter to EU Energy Commissioner, Mr. Piebalgs, advising on the lessons to be learned from the latest Russia -Ukraine gas dispute.
ERGEG Chair, Lord Mogg, stated “Many regulators, Ministries and market players were left in the dark on whether they would be faced with a state of emergency given the acute lack of information on gas shortages across the EU. Regulators have now suggested to Commissioner Piebalgs a series of measures for the Union to be better prepared to withstand and react to such crisis situations.”
The regulators' proposals include five concrete measures, detailed in the letter (see link).
