Joint Event of projects 'Harmonization of Gas and Oil Technical Standards and Practices' and 'Safety and Security of Main Gas Infrastructure'
The projects 'Harmonization of Gas and Oil Technical Standards and Practices in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus' and 'Safety and Security of Main Gas Infrastructure in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus' are collocating events in Moschun, Kievskaya oblast, Ukraine - the third inter-regional meeting of the former project, and a seminar organised by the latter.These two projects have been co-operating as they have the same time schedule, the same Partner Countries, partly the same stakeholders and the projects deal with topics which complement each others.
By organising the two events partly together will make useful information exchange and communication between the stakeholders of the projects possible. Specifically the Harmonisation of Standards will provide the Safety and Security seminar participants with:
information about
- plans to harmonise gas infrastructure standards
- harmonisation of Pipeline Integrity Management standards in particular
- the project in general, participants of the Safety and Security seminar representing a group of the main Stakeholders of the Harmonisation of Standards project (gas transmission pipeline operators)
The Safety and Security project will provide the Harmonisation of Standards meeting participants with information about such issues as:
- practical implementation of Pipeline Integrity Management standards CEN/TS 15173 and 15174, as well as of the Pilot Excellence System (based on the same concept)
- methodologies of estimation/detection/measurement of gas losses (practices in the EU and elsewhere
- the project in general, some participants of the Harmonisation of Standards meeting representing gas transit pipeline operators
The plan is that on the first day of the events (15 September) the two meetings will be joined. After that (16 – 17 September) they will have their separate programmes.
