In the context of recent major developments in the EU’s internal and external energy policies such as the EU's Second Strategic Energy Review published on 13 November 2008 and the Eastern Partnership Proposal published on 3 December 2008, the European Commission is organising an Energy Security Seminar in Brussels on 10-11 February 2009, with support from the INOGATE Technical Secretariat, for the purpose of discussing the enhancement of the established energy cooperation between the EU and its Partner Countries in the light of these new policies. 

The objective of the seminar therefore is for the INOGATE Partner Countries to express their perspectives on energy security and provide suggestions for improving the energy cooperation and for the EC to clarify the new opportunities for cooperation in the context of the new policies.
